Luna Li is our dedicated summer law student looking forward to a career in employment and labour law with Whitten & Lublin. Luna is studying law at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she has achieved the highest standing in the capstone course of the Labour and Employment Law curricular stream. She also serves as an executive member of the Osgoode Labour and Employment Law Society.
Luna found her passion for this area of law when she worked as a human resources consultant at one of the largest telecommunications companies in Canada, where she gained experience in workforce reorganization, employee and labour relations management, and workforce analytics.
During law school, Luna was selected for a practice placement at the Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre, where she developed an interest in dispute resolution and litigation. She also volunteered as a caseworker at the Community & Legal Aid Services Program. Luna’s practical experience with both employers’ and workers’ sides gave her a critical perspective and a sharp vision of employment and labour issues.
Luna also holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Wuhan University in China. Luna speaks fluent Mandarin and has been actively involved in the Asian Canadian communities for years through her volunteer work in newcomer programs and charity events.
